Nike Lunarglide+ 4 review

September 5, 2015 by Runnerpro

Runners needing a lightweight option yet still desiring maximum support, this shoe is a good fit. The Nike Luarglide+ 4 is designed with medium arch support for runners who overpronate, otherwise known as striking the ground on the lateral side of the heel.

The added arch support saves money for those who might have to purchase additional arch support insoles. The only negative component of the arch support is that it may not be quite enough support for those who have severe flat feet. Also, runners who have too high of an arch will want to use their own inserts.

Another essential feature is the breathable mesh material that keeps feet cool. One of the main concerns with mesh material is the difficulty of keeping feet dry. However, the Lunarglide has a splash-guard around the toes to protect the toes from getting wet.

Another benefit of the Nike Lunarglide+ 4 is that while runners enjoy plush comfort on their feet, they can also take pleasure in the Nike+ running appkeeping track of workouts, calories burned, mileage, and set personal goals.

There is secure traction thanks to the flexed grooves promoting an efficient stride. These grooves are not particularly deep, so they are not best suited for trail running. However, the grooves do allow for easy flexibility with the sensation of the shoe molding with the position of the foot throughout a stride.

This shoe performs best while running on pavement, track, or treadmill. It’s environmentally preferred rubber allows stability for long distance running. The heel clip also increases stability while keeping the heel from rolling out, a feature particularly suited for heel strikers.

Runners who are not heel strikers, may feel the heel is too high or irritating. The higher heal clip ensures a snug fit which is not too tight. However, this makes it more difficult to get the shoes on and off.
